Oak Park is a city in Oakland County of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a suburb of Detroit. As of the 2000 census, its population is 29,793. The Census Bureau's 2007 population estimate places the population at 30,960. The township around Oak Park began to be settled in 1822, with the area that was to become Oak Park first settled in 1840.
