Celador is an independent production company formed in 1983. It has produced a number of popular light entertainment shows, but is probably best known for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. The chairman was Paul Smith, and Rob Davis (otherwise known as Jasper Carrott) owned a substantial share in the company. In 2006, Celador offered the rights and UK programme library of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? for sale, with a view toward the eventual sale of other parts of the business.
