Corey Antoine Maggette (born November 12, 1979 in Melrose Park, Illinois) is an American professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association, for the Golden State Warriors. He excelled at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois, where he was an All-American in basketball and also an Illinois high school state track finalist in long jump and triple jump. The 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m), 225 lb (102 kg; 16.1 st) small forward was selected out of Duke University by the Seattle SuperSonics with the 13th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft, but was traded shortly thereafter to the Orlando Magic. Along with former Clippers teammate Elton Brand and college teammate William Avery, Maggette is notable as one of the first Duke players to leave before the end of his athletic eligibility during the tenure of coach Mike Krzyzewski.
