He was the star of Amores Possíveis (2001) (Possible Loves) which won the Jury award for Latin American cinema at the Sundance Film Festival. More recently he starred in Homem do Ano, O (2003) (Man of the Year). He was married to Alessandra Negrini, and they have a son Antonio.
