Skopje (Macedonian: Скопје, [ˈskɔpje] (help·info); Albanian: Shkup, or Shkupi) is the capital and largest city in the Republic of Macedonia, with more than a quarter of the population of the country, as well as its political, cultural, economic, and academic centre.
