The story focuses on Duane Jackson (Jeff Bridges), now in his forties as the wealthy tycoon of a suffering oil company, and his relationship with his family. He's got a wife (Annie Potts) who believes the mild-mannered Duane is cheating on her (which he is); a son (William McNamara) who seems to be following in his father's libidinous footsteps; and grandchildren.
