  • Wintonbury Elementary School
Wintonbury School was a public elementary school in Bloomfield, CT, from its founding until its closure after the 1980–1981 school year. Named after the original name of the settlement that became Bloomfield, it taught students from kindergarten through fourth grade for most of its history. Changing population demographics caused Bloomfield elementary schools to include the fifth grade before Wintonbury was closed and its students dispersed to Bloomfield’s other three elementary schools (Laurel, Metacomet, and Vincent). Until its closing, Wintonbury servered northern and eastern Bloomfield.
