Chuck Davis is the Chairman & CEO of Fandango, Inc., the nation's
largest online, phone and mobile movie ticketing service. Davis
officially joined the company as chairman in January 2006, and as
CEO in July 2006. One of the Web's top movie and entertainment
destinations, Fandango sells tickets to more than 15,000 screens.
Previous to joining Fandango, Davis led Shopzilla, Inc., formerly
BizRate.com, from its infancy to its recent status as the largest,
most profitable and fastest-growing comparison shopping site online,
with an index of more than 30 million products from more than
70,000 stores and the Web's most-trusted consumer feedback network.
Davis served as Shopzilla's president and chief executive officer
from 1999 (when the company was in its pre-revenue stage) to June
2005 (when it was acquired by the E.W. Scripps Company for $569
million). Under Davis' leadership, Shopzilla was one of the first
companies to spearhead a search engine cost-per-click model,
transforming the way retailers market their products online.
Prior to joining Shopzilla, Davis was president, e-Commerce for
The Walt Disney Company's Internet Group where he launched
profitable merchant and travel businesses including Disneystore.com
and Disneyvacations.com, which comprised of all theme park and
travel businesses. Davis also managed all Disney Internet
advertising sales, marketing, and online subscription initiatives
from 1996-1998.
Davis' move to e-commerce was a natural evolution from his previous
direct marketing and publishing experience at News Corporation's
TV Guide. As senior vice president, Marketing, Davis directed the
consumer marketing and circulation groups for America's then-largest
magazine. While at News Corp, he also launched The Weekly Standard
magazine and oversaw the Murdoch Magazines' Distribution Division,
which distributed more than 60 client titles to retail distributors.
Previous to News Corp, Davis worked at Time Inc.'s Sports Illustrated
from 1986-1991 where he led the magazine's direct marketing,
television, and retention efforts.
Davis earned his BA from Brown University and MBA from Harvard
University. He serves as a Director on several Boards, including
Shop.org, Business.com, LeadPoint, Inc., and the Young Presidents'
Organization (YPO), Los Angeles Chapter. Previously he was elected
to serve on the board of the Audit Bureau of Circulations. In 2004
he won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Los Angeles.
