This opera by Italian composer Lorenzo Ferrero written in 1978 is a complex montage of texts by Arthur Rimbaud, who produced his best known works while still in his late teens and gave up creative writing before he reached the age of 21. He remained a prolific letter-writer and travelled extensively on three continents. At the end of the opera the names of the cities he visited are cited, together with a fragment of his last letter. The opera was premiered at Festival d'Avignon on July 24, 1978.
