This is a bilingual opera by Italian composer Lorenzo Ferrero written in 1979. The subject is the life of Marilyn Monroe and the history of America in the Fifties and early Sixties. In two simultaneous spaces, moments from private life and moments from American history and myth follow each other. The death of Marilyn thus becomes the symbol of the end of one era and the beginning of another. The premiere took place at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma on February 23, 1980.
