Tom Alciere is a controversial figure in New Hampshire politics and a frequent candidate for elective office. He was elected to the New Hampshire state legislature as a Republican in 2000, but resigned almost immediately when Internet posts he made advocating killing police officers surfaced. He has run for partisan office as a Democrat, a Republican, and a Libertarian. His advocacy of force, in violation of the Libertarian Party pledge, resulted in his eviction from that party and the return of his dues in 1993.
